ABOUT

 

Olive Tree Pre-School formally known as St. Peters Pre-school have been established for nearly 20 years providing the local community with access to affordable, flexible and high quality childcare.



The pre-school has recently relocated to the Coxford area of Southampton, to a building which has been re-modeled to meet the needs of the pre-school and it's children.

The new building as plenty of indoor and outdoor space to meet the development needs of the children attending and provides them with an enabling environment to learn through play. It also benefits of child sized toilets that the children have free access to, promoting their independence.

 

This relocation has also enabled the pre-school to be able to offer the governments initiative of providing 30 hours of funded childcare for 3 and 4-year-old children whose parents are employed.

The setting currently employs seven members of highly qualified staff. The Manager and Deputy Manager have worked together for over 10 years and have a fantastic working relationship. Various duties are shared between the management and this great relationship has a positive impact on the team. All staff are trained in paediatric first aid and safeguarding. Staff regularly review and update their knowledge in these areas ensuring that the health and well-being of children attending the setting is a top priority.

As a setting Olive Tree Pre-School is passionate about supporting the childcare workforce to ensure there are plenty of quality early years practitioners in the industry. The setting often accommodates students/volunteers on work experience placements and has a great working relationship with local colleges and training providers. Please be advised that all student/volunteer attending the setting must hold a clear disclosure and barring service check (DBS) and are never left unattended with children.
